# install or upgrade postgres and postgis
brew upgrade postgres
brew upgrade postgis

# drop extension in case of an update
DROP EXTENSION postgis

# restart postgres
pg_ctl -D /usr/local/var/postgres stop -s -m fast
pg_ctl -D /usr/local/var/postgres -l /usr/local/var/postgres/server.log start

# create extension
CREATE EXTENSION postgis
