ただし、PostgreSQLのテーブルスキャンには追加の要件があります。第13章で説明したように、検索された各行がクエリのMVCCスナップショットに「可視」であることを確認する必要があります。可視性情報は、インデックスエントリではなく、ヒープエントリにのみ保存されます。したがって、一見すると、すべての行の取得にはとにかくヒープアクセスが必要であるように見えます。そして、テーブルの行が最近変更された場合、これは確かにそうです。ただし、データをほとんど変更しない場合は、この問題を回避する方法があります。
