私は解決策を見つけました、この行を端末に入れた後、うまくいきました：

echo mate-session> ~/.xsession

それでも解決しない場合は、次のコマンドを試してください。

Sudo apt-get install mate-core

（定かではありませんが、ハードカーネルによって事前にコンパイルされた変更されたubuntuを使用しました。Mateはデスクトップ環境でしたが、既存のものを更新するだけでなく、新たにmate-coreをインストールできました。
