これは、別の画面がすでにアクティブになっているために発生します。この場合はDP2。 DP2これは、DisplayPortから実行されるモニターです。ラップトップはLenovo x230であり、ltrabaseドッキングステーションで起動されました。

この問題は、画面をオフにするだけで解決できます。

xrandr --output DP2 --off

これで、XFCEまたは同様のワークステーションで、デスクトップ領域が縮小するはずです。その後、通常どおりにxrandrコマンドを実行し続けることができます。
